Freelance Science and Environmental Writers Needed
The American Chestnut Foundation is seeking experienced freelance science and environmental writers who can make complex scientific concepts understandable and entertaining for our 6,000 members. The Foundation, whose mission is to restore the American Chestnut to the Eastern Forests, wants to build a team of qualified freelance writers with backgrounds in forestry, biology, plant breeding and genetics, wildlife and environmental studies, entomology, plant pathology, etc. Articles will appear in the Journal of the American Chestnut Foundation, published six times a year. Writers should be familiar with and passionate about our mission. Typical articles run 800 – 1600 words sometimes require substantial research and occasional phone interviews. Rates run $250-500. Digital portfolio showing published scientific articles written for a lay-audience required. Skill with taking, researching photos a plus. Samples of our magazine can be found on our website: www.acf.org. Contact TACF Journal Editor Paul Franklin at email@example.com.
