NCNG Seeking Executive Director

The North Carolina Network of Grantmakers (NCNG) is the state’s only forum for sharing information and promoting cooperation among grant makers investing in North Carolina. NCNG is committed to strengthening the impact and effectiveness of private foundations, corporate giving programs, donor advised fund holders, and community foundations. Through networking, learning, leading, and collaborating, grantmakers and foundations of all sizes and types benefit and find value in membership with NCNG. NCNG supports and educates its membership in a variety of ways not limited to: forums and conferences, technical assistance, monthly communication, networking groups that will, at times, engage in projects or have a specific programmatic thrust that allow for collaborative work, and advocating the role of philanthropy in the State.
NCNG was organized in September 2002 by a group of leading grantmakers who appreciated the need for a statewide forum to connect and support trustees, staff and advisors of grant making organizations. NCNG is a charitable venture operating under the fiscal oversight of the North Carolina Community Foundation.
Executive Director
NCNG is seeking an executive director to be responsible for the development and overall operation of the organization as well as attracting and retaining new members. The executive director will be able to foster and build closer peer relationships. This person must take advantage of education and networking opportunities and help members to do the same. In order to be the voice of the organization the executive director must demonstrate an understanding of important North Carolina issues and must be able to educate the board and members on trends of philanthropy within the state. The next executive director must be a master at collaboration and coordinate opportunities for members to work closely together, sharing knowledge and increasing the impact of the network.

  •   Bachelor’s degree
  •   Experience in a non-profit organization and/or foundation strongly
  •   Philanthropic knowledge and foundation exposure preferred
  •   Experience in program development and event planning
  •   Comfortable speaking in public
  •   Strong networking skills and ability to collaborate with a vast group of
  •   Excellent communications skills, both written and verbal
  •   Ability to interact with diverse groups of people and facilitate
    discussions to increase involvement and action among NCNG members
