Welcome to North Carolina, Friends!
ScienceWriters 2012 has arrived! This annual joint meeting of the National Association of Science Writers and the Council for the Advancement of Science Writing is going to be busy but fun, with tours around the Triangle, engaging social events, and two days of inspiring science talks to mark the 50th meeting of the CASW’s New Horizons briefing.
We’ll be based at the Raleigh Convention Center for most of it with most guests staying at the City Center Marriott. Tours will touch on the campuses of Duke, UNC-Chapel Hill, NC State, RTI International, the US-EPA and more!
Saturday night will include a gala awards reception at the Nature Research Center to recognize the winners of the Science in Society Journalism Award, the Evert Clark/ Seth Payne Award for young science writers, and the Victor Cohn Prize for excellence in medical science reporting.
Registration closes Oct. 10 and the meeting kicks off with an all-day party and tours at the Research Triangle Park HQ on Friday, Oct. 26. If you’re driving, please park at RTI International at Cornwallis and Davis Drive, and take the free shuttle to the party.
