Science in the Movies: Genetic Engineering and Gene Editing

Often poorly understood, and yet an endless source of public fascination and Hollywood inspiration… come explore genetic engineering and gene editing in cinema with a panel of experts who will discuss great (and some not-so-great) movies! Our panelists include the following:

  • Rodolphe Barrangou, PhD – Assoc. Professor of Food Science, NC State University and Editor-in-Chief of The CRISPR Journal
  • Marsha Gordon, PhD – Professor of English, NC State University, Film Scholar and Co-Host of WUNC’s Movies on the Radio
  • Thomas Williams, JD – Attorney, Bioethicist and Lecturing Fellow with the Duke Initiative for Science & Society
