A Humanities Perspective on Vaccine Communication
Wednesday, September 8th, 2021
Jean Goodwin, PhD
SAS Institute Distinguished Professor of Rhetoric & Technical Communication
Department of Communication, North Carolina State University
Effective vaccine communication is the biggest and most urgent challenge faced by science communicators, public health officials, and doctors right now. Despite all the focus on this issue at the moment, obstacles and barriers are everywhere and there seem to be few sure-fire solutions. Join us for the first “SciComm Lunch-and-Learn” event of the semester, as we hear from Dr. Jean Goodwin – a science communication expert and Professor of Communication at North Carolina State University – on the importance of identities, values and relationships to vaccine communication–including one’s own.
